Children Served
Page Ahead collaborates with preschools, elementary schools, Head Start programs, tribal libraries, migrant centers, homeless shelters, and teen parenting programs across Washington State.
Page Ahead serves children who receive free lunches (82%), live in subsidized housing (80%), receive English language tutoring (29%), and/or read below grade level (57%) by exposing them to books and motivational reading activities.
Children served by ethnicity are: African American (10%), Asian American (7%), White (43%), Hispanic (27%), Native American (6%), Mixed Race (4%), and Other (3%). Twenty-two percent are younger than five years of age; 78% are from 5 to 12 years of age.
